Participant Dashboard: Thank You Messaging for Donors

Participants can now send thank you messages directly to their donors from the Participant Dashboard.

Within the Donor list, each donation includes a Send thank you button with the option to send either an email or a text message. Selecting either option opens the participant's native email or SMS application with a pre-populated message that can be edited before being sent.

This enhancement makes it easier for participants to recognize donor support and maintain engagement throughout their fundraising journey. Donor recognition is an important part of peer-to-peer fundraising.

How it works

1. Log in to the Participant Dashboard

2. Navigate to the Donor list.

3. Locate the donor you would like to thank.

4. Click Send thank you.

4. Select either:

  • Send email

  • Send text message

5. The participant's email or SMS application will open automatically with a pre-filled message:

Subject: Thank you for your donation

Message: Thank you for the donation.

Participants can modify both the subject and message before sending. Edit the message if desired and send it.

Messages are sent by the participant

Race Roster does not send these messages.

When a participant selects Send email or Send text message, a mailto or SMS link launches the email or messaging application installed on their device. The message is sent using the participant's own email account or phone number.

Missing donor contact information

If a donor does not have an email address or phone number on file a tooltip will display:

  • No email on file

  • No phone number on file

The corresponding option will appear disabled. This is expected behaviour.

Mobile device compatibility

The feature is supported on both iOS and Android devices.

SMS links are handled slightly differently by each operating system, but no additional configuration is required. The correct behaviour is managed automatically based on the participant's device.
