# How to Direct Users to Follow Runners Using Predictive Tracking
Race Roster now offers the ability for timers to set up **predictive tracking** for the participants running your race. This feature will allow for members of the public to view real-time estimations for when a participant will complete their race. As runners complete individual splits within the course, their predicted finish time will be updated based on their pace from that and/or previous splits, as well as their start time for the race. This new feature is useful for spectators who are attending the race in-person, or from the comfort of their home to follow and track the real-time progress of a runner completing the race along the course route.
To learn the best practices on how to direct users to follow runners throughout the race using predictive tracking, follow the steps below.
1\. To direct users to the results page where they will be able to track runners, we will want to make the event's results page easily accessible from the event page. To retrieve your event's public results link, click on **Apps -\> Results** from the lefthand side menu of the event dashboard.
2\. From your results settings, **copy your public results link** from the top of the page. This link will be used to create buttons/calls to action from your event page.
3\. Using your event's public results link, create custom links, buttons and calls to action to easily direct spectators to the results page where they can begin tracking runners. 4\. Once the user has landed on the results page, they will need to select the race that they are looking to track a specific runner in.
5\. If the specific race has not yet started, the spectator will be presented with a landing page indicating that they will need to check back soon to view the live predictive tracking.
6\. Once the race has started and the timers of the event have begun uploading results/split data, spectators will be able to begin following and tracking any specific runner(s). We recommend coordinating with the timer of your event on all logistics concerning the predictive tracking feature. This includes coordinating the number of split points throughout the course, as well as how to direct users on how to track runners on race day.
