How do I use Bib Restrictions?
The restricted bib pool is a place where you can store bib numbers that you do not wish to be assigned to participants.
The restricted bib pool empowers timers and event organizers with more fine-tuned control over bib number assignments, preventing accidental or automatic allocation of reserved numbers (such as elite, VIP, or group-specific bibs, as well as lost/damaged bibs).
Steps to enable and manage the restricted bib pool
-
Log in to your Race Roster dashboard.
-
Navigate to the Bib Management section. From your event dashboard, go to Management → Participants → Bib Management.
- Select Upload bib restrictions from the available tabs across the top of the screen.
- Next, prepare your restricted bib document for upload to adhere to the bulk upload checklist. All documents must meet the below criteria:
- File is in a CSV format
- File contains column headers
- The first column is bib number
- The second column contains the bib restriction reason (you can leave this blank, it is not required)
- Every other column will be ignored
- There are no blank rows in between records
5. Click "Choose from files" to upload a CSV file with your restricted bib numbers.
- Once uploaded successfully, a green message banner will appear with an upload summary.
- Restricted bib numbers will be visible on the "Bib assignment settings" tab, under "Restricted bib pool".
- An additional setting available to enable is the toggle "Automatically add anything unassigned to the restricted bib pool". If toggled on, any bib that is unassigned from participant search or the participant list will automatically be added to the restricted bib pool. This is useful for cases of lost or damaged bibs.
- Individual bibs can be edited or deleted under the "Actions" column of the restricted bib pool.
