How do I automatically assign bibs upon registration?
Learn how to enable automated bib assignments, configure bib ranges for each sub-event, and automatically assign bib numbers to participants as they register.
Step 1: Enable automated bib assignments
1. Navigate to the Event Dashboard.
2. On the left side menu, under Participants, click Bib management (or enter Bib management in the search bar)

3. Ensure Enable bib assignments is toggled on under the Bib assignment General settings tabs

4. Ensure Alphanumeric bib assignments via .csv is toggled off.

5. Configure whether duplicate bib numbers are permitted and whether duplicates apply across the entire event or only within individual sub-events.

6. Select whether Automatic bib assignments should apply to online registration, on-site registration, or both.
Enabling these will automatically assign the next bib number to registrants as they register online (via Race Roster) or onsite (via the onsite registration app)
Step 2: Configure bib ranges
1. Open the Bib range validation (optional) section. If automatic bib assignment is enabled, bibs are assigned according to the order in which the bib ranges are configured, rather than the lowest available bib number.

2. Enter the minimum and maximum bib range for each sub-event

If you only wish to auto assign to specific sub-events, check off Disable bib assignments on the following sub-events under the Enable bib assignments toggle.

Bib ranges can also be assigned to specific sub-events to create validation rules for both manual and automatic bib assignments. Only bib numbers that fall within the defined range for a sub-event will be accepted. When automatic bib assignment is enabled, Race Roster will assign bib numbers from the configured range associated with the participant's sub-event.
3. Click Save. Once configured, participants will automatically receive a bib number when they register. Their assigned bib number will appear in their automated Race Roster confirmation.
